'Radcliffe United Reformed Church A History To Commemorate 150 years of Worship 1848 -1998'

A group of zealous and earnest minded young men started a Congregational School in Radcliffe in 1848.  Few of them at that time probably realised the significance of this venture nor visualised the great church that was to grow from such seemingly inconspicuous beginnings.

In 1998 we looked back over 150 years of work and witness giving thanks to God who called these founders of our Church and School to His service.  We rejoice because the history of our church is a piece of the history of the town it serves, but more importantly it is a piece within the story of the historic Church of 2000 years - the story of God using the consecrated service of men and women who were obedient to heavenly vision.  We remember them thankfully for their work and the token of our thanks is the resolve to dedicate ourselves to this church for the benefit of the generations that shall follow us and for Christ who is with His faithful followers for all time.                                                                                         (cont).
